Feuertänzer is German for Fire Dancer, which fits this little guy to a T. He’s a shaded red-orange faux-chestnut with orange, yellow, and red doodle pony markings. Since the markings use the same colors as his coat, the shadings are now a little hard to see. He’s definitely one of the models that looks better in person!
This little guy has led quite an adventurous life! He started out as a plain red-orange faux-chestnut (as you can see in the old picture) and after a few fights with other models in the body box he ended up too badly scarred to continue as a simple repaint custom.
I didn’t want to strip him and start over, so after fixing his scars I broke out the paints and turned him into a doodle pony.
The markings are very loosely inspired by Maori tattoos and cover his top line, neck, face, and hindquarters. His chest, stomach, and front legs are un-doodled although he has some faux-cornet bands over his front hooves. He’s got solid black eyes, a glossy finish, and a whole lot of attitude.
I have no idea what the fantasy show rings are like nowadays, but he’s certain to stand out in a crowd!
