This little guy beat out Suicide Kings by a nose to be my first finished custom for 2012! Not a bad way to start the year off, even if I’m running a little behind schedule… (doh!)
Poptop is a very dark bay and in most lights he looks black (see the pic to the right). However he is indeed a bay and I’ve tweaked the pictures below so that his shading is more apparent.
He’s got carved hooves, but they are pretty basic– not something I think would hold up in Live Show competition, but that standard tends to vary from region to region, so use your own judgement.
He has four-color eyes and his eyes and inner nostrils are both glossed. His hooves were done in a combination of acrylics and Prismacolor pencils and I think he came out pretty well for his place on my re-learning curve!
He has painted on silver shoes, just for fun, although you can’t really tell unless you hold him up to the light just right so that it catches the sparkles. Think of it more as an inside joke among friends than something anyone else will notice. *grin*
