Life Imitating Dreams

*yawns*

Today is the first day of the rest of my life.

Of course so was yesterday and so is tomorrow, but that doesn’t stop me from falling into the same New Year craze as everyone else. Today is a fresh start, a blank slate, a day in which I can redefine who I am and what I do in one wild sweep of the brush— Yeah, I’m not buying it either, but it sounds nice, doesn’t it? *wistful sigh*

I had a lot of fun with last years massive list of 335 daily resolutions, I was tempted just to recycle them since most of I wrote down is generic enough that I could do it all over again. (Or do it the first time–for the ones I missed.)

But priorities have changed somewhat, so I figured I’d try and make a resolution for each subblog instead. Simpler things for simpler times and whatnot.

Avast Ye Blogs!

Unquiet Bones – I wish to learn how to finish things. Finishing things in this case will mean posting a serial story ‘chapter’ every Monday for the rest of the year and created eBooks from story prompts and snippit collections.

Custom-Models.com – I want to have the customizing business back up and running at full speed. Full Speed means that I am finishing at least two horses a month and that I am actively working to improve my skills.

Perish Twice – I want to learn how to successfully dual-box the priests and the hunters on the treadmill computer. Successfully meaning being able to pull my own weight in a group while walking at least 2mph.

Everyday Dragons – I want to be making $500 (net) a month in my side-business by the end of 2012. I don’t know if this is possible, but I intend to give it my best try. Being able to take my student loans out of the budgeting picture would be nineteen kinds of awesome.

View From the Molehill – I want to learn how to cook things that are a) healthy, b) cheap, and c) yummy. Since I suck at cooking in general, this should be quite an adventure…

Martha.net – I want to write my own WordPress theme from the ground up. Enough trying to jurry rig what other people have written to fit my own needs– time to start the bottom and sort things out! (Which means lots of useful posts, so bonus!)

An So Forth

Not the most impressive goals, I suppose, but if I can look back at 2012 and have succeeded at all six that will be something downright amazing. Heck, I’ll even take just one, since any of them will make a pretty big impact on my 2013 outlook. 😀

I still need to sit down and break out each goal into the baby steps that will get me from the start to the finish line, so there will be a few more posts in the coming week.

I hope everyone had a great new year and that your own resolutions are looking just as shiny!
