Ah Checkerbox, my very first attempt at a Hackney Pony custom of the Saddlebred mold (but certainly not my last!)

This little guy was one of my earliest customs and he is absolutely horrible, but I love him too much to fix him. Everyone needs their milestone horses, the ones you can look back on and say ‘I know I tried my best and good grief my best wasn’t very good!’ *grin*

He’s had his mane, tail, and face resculpted and was created by coloring over an acrylic base with colored pencils. The facial markings were painted on afterwords, but that’s the only other change.

His name is pure gibberish and I have no idea where I came up with it. I’d blame the paint fumes, but this guy was done primarily in Prismacolor pencils (hence the odd texture).
