Mold: Saddlebred (G2)
Color: Blue Roan Tovero

Medium: Acrylics
Status: Painted 200? and Sold 200?

This little gal was a custom order of Captain Erroneous‘s color on the Saddlebred mold. She’s owned by RayovLight Creations and can be seen on their website along with a few other G2 SB’s that might look familiar.

To paint this color I started with a white basecoat and shaded blue points for the head and hind feet. Then I used a toothbrush to splatterpaint on layers of light blue, darker blue, and white. You can see the three colors best in the headshot—using more than one adds a night layering effect to the overall coat, making it looks less flat.

She was finished off with a glossy sealer and I love the way she turned out! It’s definitely a color and technique that I want to revisit—although now I’m wondering what it might look like using Mabon Coraphee’s color palette. Hmm…
