In Dreams of Trees : Protego

Wordcount: 176
Rating/Warnings: PG-13 for mild cursing
Summary: Wordwar; Blue knows you can’t always fight your own battles.

NOTE: This is a very rough draft with no editing at all (per National Novel Wiriting Month rules) and is presented for amusement value only. Think of it as a periscope into my writing process rather than a coherent story!

There will most likely be spelling and grammatical errors afoot as well as flat out bad writing, info dumps, plot holes, contradictions/retcons, uneven characterization and pacing. These snippits are also posted out of order, so please refer to the Outline to figure out where it’s supposed to fit.

Protego

He’s lived his life protecting other people and damned if he is going to stop now. Blue glared at the door of his room, which wasn’t quite a cell, but only quite, and tried to figure a way out of the situation.

Merging with the city would save everyone, but it would cost Horn his bodyguard and Sara and Nathan their friend. Not merging would, in theory, kill everyone so that wasn’t an idea either.

Stopping Gray from killing the city seemed the best idea, but he had no idea how to go about doing that. He couldn’t talk to the AIs and the city wasn’t answering, which was odd, but probably just meant he was still in the city of trees.

But that meant they would have to take him home against to kill off their own city and that meant he had a chance.

He just had to warn Atlantis, warn the AIs and let them know what was coming. Maybe he couldn’t do anything to fight them, but he bet the city could.
