Silver Dollar (Custom Breyer Stablemate Quarter Horse)

He has some minimal tobiano markings on his shoulder and neck (some of which are lost in the glare) and a nice splat of overo on his face. Two blue eyes and realistic tan hooves round out the package, which looks infinitely better in real life. Sigh.

The old photos aren’t on Holly II so they must be on the backup disks or Holly’s old harddrive. Which is… somewhere. Hmm.

I’ll have to see if I can find the originals and kill off some of the oversaturation. Metallic paints are pretty, but they make for some real headaches when it comes to photography— I need to stalk some jewelry-making blogs and see how they manage things.

Otherwise, this little guy is a pretty straightforward fantasy custom. The silver bay cost is flat silver, at least as far as I can tell from the photos. I was sometimes using stainless steel to shade the silver, but that doesn’t appear to be the case here.
