This little gal was a custom order along with Cirrus Uncinus. The color is supposed to be a faux-charcoal coloring (see reference pic), but it didn’t come out as well as I had hoped.
I used pastels to try and mimic the airbrush overspray that was found on many of the older Breyer models. I think it came out passably well, but for some reason I didn’t mimic the odd lighter shadings. *pokes horses*
It was an interesting challenge, but I’m pretty sure I could do a better job if I tried again now.
Spissatus, like Uncinus was named after the fact. Spissatus clouds are denser and will partly or completely hide the sun or Moon, appearing dark grey when seen against the light. If I can track down his ‘real’ name, I’ll come back and update this page.
