Ah stencil horses, how I love thee!

This little guy was my response to the fact that almost all of my previous stencil horses had been in the blue-green-purple end of the color scale. I decided to go with an autumn flavored scheme this time and his name reflects that. (Maybon = Celebration of the Autumnal Equinox and Coryphee = Type of ballet dancer)

I started out with a solid orange base and then stenciled on the red, gold and yellow. Once I had the basecoat I was looking for, I went back in and added the white blanket and the gold over-stenciling. (He’s also a pseudo-Blanket Appaloosa, but that’s really only obvious if you squint.)

He was finished off with a glossy sealer… and then sat on eBay forever. Which I thought was a bit odd, since I liked the final product, but I’ve learned I’m not always a good judge of what other folks think is nifty (ah well).
