Flashdance

Flashdance

Make: Breyer
Scale: Stablemate
Mold: Morgan Mare (G1)
Color: Bay Tobiano
Gallery: Tobiano
Medium: Acrylics
Status: Painted 200? and Sold 200?

This little gal was one of my earlier customs than I ended up selling later on down the road. For a while I was building my own little show string, but quickly discovered that I had more fun hosting shows (Hampton Roads Classic) than I did participating in them.

The color is good, but the tobiano pattern needs some refining work on the edges. When I started painting I was trying to mimic the hair patterns so the edges are much rougher than they should be. It took a bit for me to realize that realistic paintings on a 1:32 scale needed to include ambiguity at times.

I miss the G1 molds, they had a more abstract feel to them that lent itself to a softer painting style. The G2 molds were much more realistic, which allowed for better photo realism, but a much harder skill requirement.
