Blood Royale

Blood Royale - Breyer Stablemate G2 Standardbred Pacer - Right
Blood Royale

Purple is the color of royalty and this little guy was another stab at a horse in heraldic colors, like Sanguine Courant. Royale didn’t turn out quite as well, since the gold shadings on the silver tobiano markings ended up looking a bit odd.

This little guy was done in the dioxazine purple that hates my camera, as you can see in the drastically different tones in the headshot and the body shots. Add to that the distracting gold topline to the silver tobiano pattern and you had a horse that was rather hard to sell.

I did like the way the gold shadings looked almost air brushed on, the gold and silver is definitely a combination that I’ll use again in the future… just not for white markings.
