This little guy turned out every little bit as awesome as I hoped he would when I started! Bling was painted during my metallics phase and was one of several tobianos, however, he was the only one done in all metallics.

The body color is copper with gold points and the tobiano markings are done in silver. I liked the way AuCu’s body color came out and I wanted to try it again with a pinto/paint pattern.

I think next time I might go for a bronze instead of gold so that the points are darker than the body color; the color combination looks good on AuCu, but on Bling the gold is too bright against the silver.

While the silver wasn’t as strong a contrast as I had hoped, but it worked much better than white would have. If I bring the tone of the points down, it should give the pattern a little more pop. Definitely a color combination that I’m going to try again!

Not sure if you can tell from the headshot, but this little guy had gold eyes. I tried him with realistic eyes to start with, but they ended up looking disturbingly out of place so I swapped them out.

Bling ended up selling to someone who had never collected model horses before, which wasn’t unusual for my little guys. As I remember he was bought as a gift, but the person who bought him ended up getting into the hobby themselves. Always a nice feeling to introduce someone else to the addiction! *grin*
