And Back to the Beach
Part of the army is still laying siege to Pine Reach. The rest has retaken Two Beaches and driven the townsfolk into hiding or to Pine Reach. The two sides are at a stalemate, but the blue army is locked in solidly.
There are forays, raids, small strikes back and forth as they try new tactics, but the two sides are two evenly entrenched. The fox kingdom has sent reinforcements, but manpower isn’t enough to overcome the stormhawks and no one is willing to throw bodies against the problem.
Everyone is waiting for May to come back, alive or dead, and they are just waiting in the meantime.
They’ve had confirmation from Wolf and Lion that the army belongs to neither of them. The other kingdoms aren’t willing to lend troops, not yet, but they are readying their own armies in case Fox falls.
Since the golden was born all three sides knew a war was coming, there’s no easy way to keep that a secret. But now they aren’t fighting among themselves, things are off-kilter and there’s more diplomacy at work to keep Wolf and Lion from taking advantage of the situation to bring down Fox with a united front.
May comes back, but she comes to Two Beaches instead of Pine Reach. She talks to the kids then Baron comes back from Pine Reach with the other black foxhawks. They line up the attack pattern and get ready for the ultimatum.
They’ve daisy-chained riders and foxes so that the message can be passed instantly down to the hawks in the harbor. The guards are lax here, inside the town they aren’t looking for resistance.
