Summary: Please note, this is currently a very rough draft. There will be spelling and grammatical errors afoot as well as flat out bad writing, info dumps, plot holes, flat out contradictions, and uneven characterization and pacing. (Content is also subject to constant change as I take an editing chainsaw to the story.)

Cavalry Redux
The foxhawks from Two Beaches will catch up to the fight somewhere in midday, surprising the blue army who had though they would stay in the caves until the storm was over. That managed to stalemate the fight to where they can survive at Pine Reach another day.
“Are they gone?” Lucky asked, panting and tired. “Have they really dropped back?”
“I think so,” said Flame, “Look, the footmen are falling back as well, we’ll have a break then.”
“I could use one,” Lucky said, “It’s no fun flying in the rain.”
“I’m not sure if you’re brave or stupid.” Flame said and Lucky grinned.
“Bit of both, I imagine.” He stretched, flipping his tail up and over his back and yawning. “I’m glad they ran away, I don’t like fighting.” He’d been in the thick of things with the other foxhawks, able to pull of maneuvers riderless that the enemy couldn’t match. He’d almost brought down a stormhawk as well, his ability to fly in the unsteady winds was a shock.
“We’ll have to do more tomorrow.” Flame said sadly, “They won’t be leaving this soon I don’t imagine.”
“Why are they here?” Lucky complained, “They aren’t from Wolf or Lion, they don’t ask for blood debt or try to annex anything. They are attacking for no reason.”
“They’re looking for something.” Flame said, “I don’t know what, I’m not sure they know what, but we have to find it before things get worse.”
