That Don’t Impress Me Much : Part 53

Wordcount: 210 words
Rating/Warnings: PG-13
Summary: Please note, this is currently a very rough draft. There will be spelling and grammatical errors afoot as well as flat out bad writing, info dumps, plot holes, flat out contradictions, and uneven characterization and pacing. (Content is also subject to constant change as I take an editing chainsaw to the story.)

Now What

May was not in charge of the humans by a long shot, but she had ended up by default in charge of the foxhawks. Or Flame had, and he deferred to her.

But once the others heard about the geese, and the story behind the geese (for those who had been away from Two Beaches for a while) there was heated discussion among the group. There were other signs that they though the townsfolk might have tried, if there was true danger, but Swift was not willing to go back out and see. Jeffery was positive the geese were enough and the foxhawk was to tired and scared to try again.

No one was sure if they should head back or if they should continue on. There was a reluctance to send a runner back to Pine Reach when they were not positive anything was wrong. The fact that the runner had not returned from Two Beaches was worrying, but they also did not want to walk into a trap.

Everyone was tired and stressed and in a state of shock over the events of the last week. No one was in a mindset where making decisions was easy and things turned into an endless circle of bickering and what-ifs.
