The New Normal

The spring days rolls slowly into summer and then to fall, whatever dread doom the golden hatchling foretells is at least two years off, as least by conventional expectations. So she settles into her studies and tries not to let Aaron’s concerns drive her too batty. Yes, it will not be the future they had initially planned, but that does not mean they don’t have a future.

School will only last through the winter, next spring she’ll get her assignments and if she’s lucky she’ll have plenty of free time to work at her uncle’s. Not a true apprenticeship, but it might be better than nothing and nothing is all they’ve got.
