Delayed Confrontations
The hatchlings would not stay in Pine Reach long and Baron was not looking forward to the arrival of the golden hatchling, who may or may not still be holding a grudge. He was having enough problems dealing with the shunning from the adults and the curiosity of the other fledglings.
Although not all of the adults were as fast to shun him completely. There seemed to be an undercurrent of understanding, if not support among some of them. Not that anyone would speak out against the elders or the laws or the warren, they just did not condemn him quite as much.
He did regret things a little now, but he’d do it again if it came down to it. He had lost the chance at the cheery camaraderie as soon as his rider had died. There was no real place for riderless foxhawks and no matter who he had picked there would have been the awkwardness that the other foxhawks would never feel.
