This guy was the very first of my fantasy shires and my first attempt at a colored pattern on a black background. I pulled it off a little better with my later attempts (like Rainy Day Blues and Fragaria Glaze).
As you can tell from the lovely background, this was one of my earlier customs. I fell back on the remnants of my theatre crafting training and tried to paint a grey overcast sky—probably would have worked better if it was little out of focus. *pokes photos*
Looking at the pictures now, as blurry as they are, it almost looks like this guy as actually a dark bay… I can’t tell if that’s the camera or the horse, but now I’m sort of curious.
Either way, I wish I’d been a bit more detailed with the red markings. They look very flat and out of place—a good example of when a horse looks painted instead of looking as if it was meant to be that color.
The Breyer Stablemate G2 Clydesdale/Shire is a little under 3 inches tall, 3.5 inches long, and 1.5 inches wide. Per Breyer Stablemates are all 1:32 scale, but it varies a bit between molds.
