Day -20 of Camp NaNoWriMo

Camping in My Mind

No, I’m not really going to count down everyday from now until Camp NaNoWriMo starts on July 1st… but it’s tempting!

I’m really looking forward to the Camp website that is supposed to open a little bit further into June. A lot of the fun of NaNo is being able to share that Christmas morning feeling during the countdown to midnight.

So what lies after midnight?

I’m tentatively calling it ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’, aka a Pern-ish/Valdemar-ish story minus the Mary Sues. But with red-tailed hawk-foxes and sparrowhawk-weasels. Just because.

Black Horse of Eolian, I choose you! Heh. 😉

I’m wavering on whether to pants or plan for July, since so much other stuff is going on in the interim. I do have a general story idea (and one for August as well) and it’s one that should be relatively easy to run with, pants or no pants.

Theoretical pants of course! Sheesh.

Anywho, since it’s a pretty straight forward story I’m going to take another stab at writing linearly and posting the whole mess as I go. This means you may hit [retcon goes here] tags and a whole lot of Sir Basil Exposition– I apologize in advance.

My version of ‘simple’ tends to get complicated as soon as it hits paper, but NaNoWriMo is the time to shut down the inner editor, so my flailing shall be your amusement. At least I hope it will. *crosses fingers*

Now I just have to keep the story bottled up in my head for twenty more increasingly antsy days… come on message boards, I need some room to procrastinate!
