Black chestnut is such a wonderfully odd color and it’s a lot of fun to paint! As you can tell by the fact I have several of them… (This little gal came after Nachtkatze, but before Night Life).

The shading in the black shows up much better in the scans, which is sadly typical– and one of the reason so many of the older horses have both scans and photos in the archive. I really wish I could hop back in time and get photos with the new camera, but alas.

Like To The Nines this little gal is named after a fancy dress event. Of all the G2 Stablemate molds, the saddlebred mold really does look like it’s a breath away from the show ring. (Although considering the parked out position it’s probably already in the ring)

I’ve got an itch to try out this color combination again, but first I have to finish off the ones I’m working on now…
