This little gal’s name translates into ‘Wind of Summer’ from my rather mangled Portuguese. Nothing like ambushing an unsuspecting language and riffling through it’s pockets for names via Bablefish!

This model was a good chance to practice getting a smooth white on large markings. Since I use Guesso instead of an acrylic, I was able to water it down significantly, which allowed for a nice even layer. There have been some mentions that Guesso yellows over the years, so I’m half tempted to try and track down the current owner to see how she’s fairing.

I actually was never really fond of the G2 Paso Fino mold. The way the horse is positioned, it looks like the horse is being ridden not moving on its own. Which is great for performance, but just makes it look a little ‘off’ in my own eye. Interestingly it was one of the more popular molds for the portrait horses, so there must have been something appealing that I just can’t see.
