Sakes Alive was my first attempt at adding mapping to a pinto pattern. It didn’t come out quite as well as I had hoped, but this was still pretty early in my learning curve, so it’s not horrible for a first try.
Not as much shading in the bay as I would have liked, but that’s something that came with time. It’s hard when you first start out not to get caught up in the idea that horses are all just one flat color. Now when I’m doing bays I use at least three or four shades to give it some depth– and that’s before I break out the pastels!
