Unnamed Custom Foal

Scale: Stablemate
Mold: Scrambling Foal (G2)
Color: Purple-bay Extended Blanket Appaloosa
Gallery: Fantasy Appaloosa
Medium: Acrylics
Status: Painted 200? and Sold 200?

Not a whole lot to say on this one. This was a simple Add-a-Foal for Stonehenge Lilac (for a while I had a requirement that the foals be the same color as the ‘parent’). Same stencil brush technique as on the adult, nothing fancy about him/her– although you really can’t tell that from the rather lackluster photos. (more…)

This is Why I Can’t Have Nice Lists

GTD Workflow

There is this theory stumbling around the universe that if you make a nice orderly list of Things That Must Be Done™ that your life will fall neatly into the habit of checking off said things.

HA.

I was tempted to put that ‘Ha’ in blinking neon red 72 point letters. Thankfully my sense of taste kicked in, but the intention was there (if not the execution).

I have made lists. And then made more lists. And then made lists of the lists, just for the hell of it. I am the reigning Queen of List-making and by all rights my house (and life) should be as perfect as perfect can be!

Mold: MH Copyright
Color: Dark Bay
Gallery: Realistic Bay
Medium: Acrylics
Status: Painted 2001 and Home Herd

This little guy has the honor of being the first micro mini I ever painted. He was also the first artist resin I ever bought (and the first micro resin too boot!) That’s a lot of firsts for someone so small, but he’s got an ego that’s more than up for the challenge. (more…)

Make: Breyer
Scale: Stablemate
Mold: Trotting Foal (G2)
Color: Chestnut
Gallery: Chestnut
Medium: Acrylics
Status: Painted 200? and Sold 200?

This little guy was either an Add-a-Foal or a I’m-Really-Sorry-For-The-Delay foal… not sure which.

I did a bunch of Apology Foals whenever custom orders ran long and from my recollection this was one of them. Foals only took me a couple of hours to paint and they made a better impression than offering a partial refund. (more…)

Hacking My Business Plan

SBA Business Plans

I am trying to write a business plan for my home micro-business and I keep hitting dead ends.

Mostly because the generic business plan that the SBA suggest above is for companies, not micro-business. Even in my rosiest forecast I don’t plan on having employees, investors, or business loans. In fact, the only person who will ever be seeing this plan is me (and my readers).

But having a plan seems to be a core requisite for being a ‘real’ entrepreneur as opposed to a hobbyist who makes a little money on the side. So I’m trying to find a way to hack down the extra bits until I get what I need.

So what’s in a plan? (more…)
