
This was one of my later horses, as you can tell by the photos, and I used a combination of acrylics with a top layer of pastel dust to enhance the shading. While the pastels aren’t as powerful against a colored basecoat, they do add a nice punch to paint job.
Someday I’ll master the art of using the pastel dust without ‘cheating’, but for now I’ll just enjoy tweaking my current techniques!
