Today’s Theme: Prose, Prose Away!

Thus Went The Day: It feels very very odd to be breaking the 10k barrier this early in the month. Last year around this time I’d written just shy of 6k words and was having serious problems meeting the daily wordcount. This year I’m putting my nose to the grindstone and getting things done before I have a chance to make excuses. I’m wondering if I have the energy to keep this up or if the early morning write-ins are doomed to fall by the wayside.

Today was a focus on getting my actual prose wordcount up. I have a lot of outlining and ‘then this happened’ and not a whole lot of fleshing out. I sat down to expand on a few of the settings/scenes and to try and find more POV characters. (And yes, Imaginary Gate Team 5 has now officially crashed the party). I did okay, all things considered, but I’m beginning to feel like the overall story is missing something. There’s just not enough conflict… Ah well, the weekend is for planning and story building, the weekdays are just for throwing ideas out there! ^_~
