My internet connection has been hovering between Poor and Cursing for the last week and a half. Hopefully this will be resolved by our switch from Cox Cable to Verizon, but we’ll see. There is nothing more frustrating than knowing there are certain hours of the weekdays and weekends where playing any sort of game -or even surfing the web- is impossible. So I’ve taken to reading and gathering information and hopefully come August 3rd, I’ll be able to put some of what I’ve learned into practice.
Arg.
Anywho, on to Glyphs!
Minor Glyphs
There are only four glyphs to choose from at level 15, but since there are only six minors total, it’s not as limited a pool as the majors.
Glyph of Mend Pet – Yoink! (Daysinger and Nightsinger)
Requires: Level 15
Affect: Your Mend Pet spell increases your pet’s happiness slightly.
This is the must have glyph for me and I got it for both Day and Night. This is the glyph that increases your pet’s happiness when you use Mend Pet (by 20 on the first tick only), which means no more hunting for meat! The nice thing is you can spam heal them back up to happy (just wait for the first tick) and it’s not as bad a mana drain as I had feared. I was getting very very tired of having to pause and get munchies for them. Now I’ll only be feeding them things that give specific bonuses– which really doesn’t happen much until the higher levels.
Glyph of Possessed Strength – Pass
Requires: Level 15
Affect: Increases the damage your pet inflicts while using Eyes of the Beast by 50%.
While there are some glowing reviews of this on Wowhead, I really can’t see that it would be useful in a dual-boxing situation. Having one hunter possess the pet (using Eyes of the Beast) and the other keep firing away might be interesting, but I think it would lower my DPS. It could be fun with a pet that can prowl, since they could get places I couldn’t… but since I can’t do anything as a Pet other than gnaw heads, I don’t see the appeal.
Glyph of Revive Pet – Pass
Requires: Level 15
Affect: Reduces the pushback suffered from damaging attacks while casting Revive Pet by 100%.
I can’t really see a need to use this. If one of the pets dies, it would be easier to keep attacking until I kill off the mob than to have Day or Night stop and revive them. Or if whatever killed the pet can kill off the rest of us before I can revive the pet, better to take the graveyard trip and rez somewhere far enough to run away. Having to choose between a few graveyard trips and many many level of hunting food isn’t even a close call.
Glyph of Scare Beast – Pass
Requires: Level 15
Affect: Reduces the pushback suffered from damaging attacks while casting Scare Beast by 75%.
This is a PvP only glyph, as far as I can tell. It’s strengths seem to lie mainly in the ability to fear druids in animal form and to keep other hunter’s pets away from you. Not something I can see using effectively during questing or random dungeons.
