MicroNaNo: Genre

So, genre, that’s sort of the first choice, no?

Don’t feel up to SciFi, even if it’s light scifi. All my Muses want to do there is play with Carson and Ship and I vowed to start something new. I haven’t read any SciFi in forever, should go dig out the anthologies and see if anything pops. I’d forgotten how not reading withers the Muses. 😛

Fantasy is wonderfully broad, and there are so many subgenres–

And now my Muses are back to the ‘electric rocks’ that I was talking to B-chan about the other day on AIM. Because what if there were electric rocks like there are magnetic rocks? Natural batteries, except ones that lost their charge very very slowly. Or not at all, but I’d hate to do the math for a not-at-all… but that’s science fiction and I am not doing science fiction. Nopenopenope.

So, something with less maths and research loads. Hmmm…

Urban fantasy is popular at the moment, but it’s chock full of clichés that I’d have to avoid. Then again, this is fantasy, we thrive on clichés. ^_^ *huggles her magical companion animals* Heh.

So, an urban fantasy with an odd element of fantasy… too bad I can’t just use NotWendy, but they are established fictives already. Hrmmm…

Guess I’ll have to come up with something over lunch. *ponders*

Update: Okay, so having someone to bounce ideas off of during lunch rocks! ^_^

Looks like I’ll be going with Urban fantasy, only without the vampires, werewolves, or murder mysteries… *grin* And now onto the worldbuilding!

I’m posting the research bits in a second, see if you can guess what’s going on! Hehehe ^_^
