“First Novels Are Supposed to Suck”
*sighs*
Of course it doesn’t help that I read a weblog posting in the last week or so that points out authors should pick one genre to focus on, and thus not annoy their agents by throwing them things across a wide spectrum of genres. Which makes sense, it’s easier to become a marketable name if you have a steady theme… but I’m really not sure The Book That Isn’t RaW is something I want to write more than one of. o_O; *twitch*
But, first novels are supposed to suck, right? So I can write this one, have grand fun learning from my mistakes… and then move onto something I can write more than one of.
Like good old non-blood-soaked generic fantasy! (Avenshark, Songs of the Summer God, Winding Sea, etc) Although, come to think of it, Songs is pretty darned dark in places, and two of the three urban fantasy ‘verses I have on the drawing board are also a mite shady… Hmm.
But first I need to finish the learning experience. *mutters unrepeatable things*
Hey dawnmipb feel like reading a few chapters this weekend? ^_~
