Rise and Walk is in need of a title…

Time for a new title, which is about as easy as herding cats. Since I can’t make it too much like anything else, and yet it has to make sense in context of the story. *frustrated sigh*

Things I have Come Up With So Far:
The House of Fire – boooooring
The Council of Tides – err, same thing
(there is no number three)
The Song of Fire and Ashes – too close to the titles of other books
Two Guys and a Dead Lizard – truth in advertising!
Blood and Ashes – already used
The Fall of the House of Fire – bwahahahahaha… No.
Blood on Bone – also too close to other books
Snakes on a Plane! – *snicker*
Dead Salamanders Have No Fun
Why You Should Never Piss Off People Who Own Owls
How to Kill Your Enemies, or Die trying
Having Your Revenge Without Dying
An Idiot’s Guide to Blood Magic
Raising the Dead 101
… *sighs*

Actually, I sort of like Two Guys and a Dead Lizard, but that’s just me. ^_~

    Did you see the suggestion at the bottom of the EE comments: “Rise and Slither”?

    Good titles often come from a particularly vivid phrase in the book, i.e. Catcher in the Rye or A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. Got any really good turns of phrase in there?

    Other than that, how about:
    Raising Vengeance
    House of the Salamander
    Elemental Pyre
    Sons of Fire
    Clashing Houses, Hidden Salamander (ok that one got out of control)

      Hehe, I do remember Rise and Slither, that was a good one. ^_^

      I do sort of like ‘Sons of Fire’… *ponders* Maybe ‘Children of Ash’? *googles* Okay, someone else used that one too. *sighs*

      I could just be lazy and go with ‘Ash, Blood and Bone’ which is what they use to raise the salamander, but it feels like it’s lacking context. Also leaning towards ‘A House of Ash’, but that sounds too much like ‘The House of Fire’… which is probably what I’m going to end up using if I can think of anything else. 😛 (But that would give me a good excuse to write a book about some of the other Houses… *laughs*)

      Ah well, maybe something will pop up in the finally polish (or three)…
