Daily Snippit: Science Fiction

Sometimes the words didn’t come out right and she suffered through their jibes and friendly teasing. It wasn’t her fault the sounds were meant for other teeth and tongues. They might have shared her frustration, had their hearing been good enough to discern her own language, but human ears were too limited in range. They spoke on the lower end of her own hearing, and she sometimes longed for the sharp hissing speech of other Khriss. But the Alliance was the only thing holding the Sslin back, and if that meant she had to learn to chatter, or bark, or whistle she would.
