I’m allowed to have three things up on OWW (www.onlinewritingworkshop.com) at the same time, so the plan as of now is to work on the following three pieces:
The Mists of Haitys – short story/first few chapters of longer story. I really like the world as it’s fleshing out and the basic outline is a great introduction for something longer. But I’m hoping to get a series of stories out of this instead of an overarching plotline, I’m looking more for a working class fantasy than a ‘Save the World!’ story.
Songs of the Summer God – I have a rough idea of what I want out of this, and again it seems to be in a short story format. I’d like to chew on a few short stories before I try anything novel length. I haven’t really sat down to practice writing in years, which brings me to…
500 Flash – I’d like to get a nice library of flash fiction done (50 or so). There seem to be a few markets for it, but they’ll do nicely for Lulu and to draw traffic (and interest) to the website. It’s also very good practice! I may work on some drabbles or slightly longer works as well, but that will depend on what I can find markets for. Non-paying markets are still markets!
