Daily Snippit: Urban/Suburban Fantasy

Karin was still getting used to the idea that there was no magic here. The habits were so ingrained that every time it didn’t work it was still a shock. A flick of her fingers to turn on the lights, a twist of the wrist to summon the tv remote, all little reminders how far from home she really was. She caught herself humming warming spells waiting for the bus, barking commands at inanimate objects. It was all so weird.
