Technically, the Trolls aren’t Bad Guys. They are just a bunch of oversized forest denizens that are tired of having to put up with the Emotiponies… can you really blame them? ^_~

The Trolls the only talkative life-form in the Ever After that isn’t a Bad Dream or a Shiny Happy Sparkle Pony. So how did they get there? The Trolls had been living in the WildWood by the foot of the Rainbow almost as long as the Rainbow had existed. They are actually three-foot tall rabbits who evolved due to the Rainbow’s magical pollution of the forest. So why are they called Trolls? Let’s just say there was an unfortunate incident with a pre-Arcadia hunting party and leave it at that. Somehow yelling “Run for your lives, it’s the Overly-Large Bunnies!” didn’t seem quite appropriate.

So when the Celestial Unicorn created the Ever After, the Trolls escaped over the Rainbow and hid in the DarkWood with some of the smarter Bad Dreams. Thinking they had escaped the Ponies (who had invaded their WildWood home) they were understandably upset to find the Emotiponies had taken up residence next door. The Trolls are now on a quest to find the Key and use it to escape into the Land of Dreams, where there is a distinct lack of Ponies and Over-excitable Huntsmen.
