Did the MirrorDark exist before the creation of the Mystic Mirror? No one knows for sure, but the first encounter with the universe on the other side only happened after the Mystic Mirror was created.

Forged from the metal of a cosmic meteor, the Mystic Mirror was created by the Bad Dream Arachnia who wanted to copy the scrying powers of the Sparkle Pool. Made from a single piece of metal the mirror is just the right size for a single Pony to fit through. Which, remarkably enough is just what it is used for. MirrorDark Ponies can only cross-over through the Mystic Mirror, except under certain circumstances. However, they can see and hear through any mirror…

The MirrorDark universe is a mirror image of this universe (which they call the MirrorLight) and has its own set of Sparkle Ponies. Evil Sparkle Ponies. Evil Sparkle Ponies with kick-ass Sparkle powers and no stupid sense of morality to get in the way…. Let the smiting begin!

MirrorDark Ponies

NAMING PATTERN: I think you can figure this out yourself.

COLORS: Mirror image of Sparkle Pony colors.

POWERS: They can Call the Dark Rainbow and have magical powers that they use much more effectively than the Sparkle Ponies. (For example, an elemental Sparkle Pony might use a Water Bubble attack, where a MirrorDark Pony would use an Icicle Shard Storm)
